Welcome to Juliana Jewelry, the site where you can learn how to recognize genuine DeLizza & Elster Jewelry. DeLizza & Elster was a costume jewelry design house that was in business from the late 1940's through the 1980's. Today, their "Juliana" line is a favorite of collectors. The trouble is, the entire line was manufactured and sent to boutiques and department stores with only hang tags to identify the jewelry. It was never signed on the actual jewels. So how can you tell if what you just bought is a true D&E Juliana jewel? And dealers, how can you identify your jewelry so that when you sell Juliana, your buyers can be confident they are getting the real thing? We hope to help you answer those questions. This site will feature digital images of genuine Juliana jewelry that has been verified by Frank DeLizza, one of the owners of DeLizza & Elster. If any other expert would like to volunteer to go over any jewelry submitted to verify pieces before we send them to Mr. DeLizza, please write and let us know. (See this quick Picture Tutorial) Any dealers or collectors who maintain educational web pages or
albums of verified Juliana jewelry are invited to send links to their albums
or individual images for us to post on these pages. Please be aware that the copyright
to your pictures will still belong to you, and that any pictures will be
removed from this site at your request. In addition you will receive
credit for pictures you allow us to use for educational purposes,
including a link to your website if you have one. You may also submit images of jewelry you are not sure is DeLizza & Elster, so that these can be verified as Juliana or not Juliana by Mr. DeLizza, who has generously offered to verify any of his jewelry. Any shared albums will have no passwords, no requirements, no deadlines, no rules and no hassles. All we ask is that images be large, clear & complete, showing front, back, including all clasps. We have added additional Tutorial Pages that show illustrations of the characteristics of D&E jewels. These tutorials will enable you to learn easily to recognize a De Lizza & Elster piece. Submit scans or digital images, front
& back of your unverified Juliana jewelry to Juliana
Jewelry (See this quick Picture
Tutorial) Then keep an eye on our verification albums.
